Crafted from recycled 18/10 stainless steel, the Dorotea grinder by Monica Förster brings minimalist elegance to any table. The ceramic CrushGrind® mechanism sits at the top to prevent spice residue on surfaces and offers a smoother, more consistent grind with gravity-assisted design.

Comfortable to hold and easy to control, it features four adjustable settings from fine to coarse and works with salt, pepper, and dried spices.

Inspired by the glacial landscapes around the Swedish village of Dorotea, its soft, flowing lines reflect the natural transitions between valleys and peaks—an organic design that blends tradition with modern craftsmanship. This design is made from recycled stainless steel and comes in a choice of polished or matte finish. Dorotea collection received the international design prize German Design Award in 2025 in the category Excellent Product Design.

The ceramic CrushGrind® mechanism is located at the top of the grinder, and thanks to this thoughtful design, no spices sprinkle onto the table when the grinder is placed down. The positioning of the grinding mechanism offers several advantages: gravity naturally guides the spices into the grinder and results in a more consistent grind. At the same time, the grinder fits comfortably in the hand, providing a pleasant grip and better control. With four settings from fine to coarse, it’s easy to adjust seasoning according to different preferences. The ceramic grinding mechanism works for salt, pepper, and dried spices, ensuring the flavors are truly brought out.
Dorotea is made from 91% post-consumer recycled stainless steel. This means that the stainless steel has basically lived a previous life. In addition to being extremely durable, stainless steel can be melted down and transformed into new products without losing its properties and qualities. Stainless steel can be endlessly recyclable, making it a material that keeps on giving.
