Papu (‘bean’) wool felt trivets include small and long trivets with oval shapes. These trivets and table runners are from Tuttu Sillanpää and Verso Design, a Finnish design house that specializes in modern textiles and innovative home accessories inspired by nature. The design features bean shapes, laser-cut from 8mm-thick felted wool.
Felted wool was chosen because it's soft, comfortable and familiar. Graphic bean cutouts give the collection a modern edge. The effect is minimalist and bold, without feeling cold. It’s a welcome change from conventional trivets, which are often made from hard, inflexible materials like metal, ceramic or wood. While Verso’s trivets and table runners are made from a softer material, they still get the job done, protecting tabletops from hot dishes and platters. Plus, Verso’s Papu trivets add artistry to the table. Most trivets get put away after the meal, but these are beautiful enough for everyday display.
