THE RETRO COLLECTION SHAKERS
The Retro Collection Shakers by Gense, designed by Pierre Forssell, were shown on the premiere of H55. The Shakers attracted much attention for their genial form – a simple form in stainless steel with a black plastic foot. The cone-shaped shakers for salt, pepper and sugar were described by the media with the words “the construction is so simple that it’s nearly embarrassing.” Gense thereby set a new standard for functional design.
Pierre Forssell, born in 1925, became a silversmith teacher at Konstfack at the early age of 17. He was later active as a designer and artistic leader for Gense. His designs includes Shakers, Cocktail Forks and Retro Salad Servers.
