Nobel was created to mark the Nobel Prize’s 90th jubilee in 1992. Since then the cutlery is used at the great Nobel dinner in December every year. Nobel Gold is typically Swedish in its form, yet has several surprising details. Stringency is relived by playfulness, while silver and gold are combined with matte and polished surfaces. The handle of has a satin finish and is complemented with bowl, blade or tines with a mirror finish. Nobel adds that extra touch to every well-laid table, no matter whether you choose a traditional style or follow modern trends. Set the table in the most elegant way with the Nobel cutlery.
The Nobel cutlery is lovingly designed by Gunnar Cyrén. The design is inspired by the table silver of King Karl XIV Johan, which is still used at Stockholm Castle. The large, silver-plated steel knife, fork and spoon are suitable for any kind of food. The green eye of the majestic fish knife adds a playful touch. The gold-plated knife, fork and spoon and small spoon are ideal for dessert and fruit. All the gold-plated cutlery can be used with food containing fruit acids, egg or brine.
Gunnar Cyrén is one Sweden’s most skillful designers specializing in metals such as gold and silver. He was educated at the University of Industrial Arts in Stockholm. Cyrén has received numerous awards including the 1966 Lunning Prize and the Prince Eugen Medal in 1988. His work is represented in many museum collections around the world. Cyrén was selected to design both the glassware and cutlery for the 90th anniversary of the Nobel Prize. Nobel is still one of the most popular cutlery lines in Scandinavia.

SILVERWARE CARE RECOMMENDATIONS
In regard to silver cutlery, it may depend on the fact that many think it is difficult to manage and therefore have it hidden away for the greater part of the year. For that reason we thought that we would tell you a little about how to care for it. The truth is that not much work is required if you use the cutlery often. All it takes is a little consideration.
The more often you use the cutlery the less care is needed. This is the best way to preserve the wonderful shine that only genuine silver has.
It works perfectly well to wash your silver cutlery in a dishwasher. Just make sure that it is not placed close together with stainless steel cutlery.
Naturally, your silver cutlery can be washed by hand with normal dishwashing liquid. Here are some tips:
• If you have had a dinner and want to wash your cutlery later, let it lie dry instead of in water.
• Exactly like glass, it is a good idea to dry the cutlery after you have washed it in order to avoid spots.
If you have used your silver cutlery with stockfish and/or eggs, which can cause stains on the cutlery when in contact with this food for a long time, wash the silverware directly after the dinner to avoid discolouration.
If you use your silver cutlery every day you can store the silverware in your ordinary kitchen drawer, just make sure you don’t mix it with stainless steel cutlery. Rubber bands are not silver’s best friend since they can cause stains. If you prefer to use your silver cutlery every now and then, you can store the cutlery in a case or cutlery roll, which you can purchase in your jewelry shop.
