Old Farmer Classic by Bent Severin for Gense is a popular cutlery.  The combination of the materials - wood and stainless steel - make it exquisite.  Old Farmer collection is a beautiful piece of Danish design, with its elegant lines, and the handle made of rosewood.  The blade of the knife is particularly suitable for steaks or barbecued meat; however, it can be used for all sorts of occasions.

Old Farmer Classic kitchen knives are beautifully designed by the industrial designer Cilla Persson. The blade is made from molybdenum vanadium steel and the handle in Old Farmer Classic is made from genuine rosewood.  The carving sets are fantastic as tools in the kitchen when cutting in larger pieces such as turkey or steak. The knife has a fantastic cutter, and the length of the handles are perfect, as it contributes to a stable use. All Old Farmer cutlery is delivered in robust wooden boxes.

GENSE Old Farmer Classic Carving Set and Salad Set

Many years of cooperation and high demands placed on GENSE designers have developed and created a range of classic, innovative and functional cutlery, which shows respect for the raw materials, and where the highest grade of stainless steel is used. Designs that have also been able to set standards within Scandinavian design, all with shapes that provide a good balance and feel good when you hold them in your hand, are durable, and can go straight into the dishwasher.

The Danish designer and architect, Bent Severin (1925-2012), has fashioned the popular Old Farmer set that contains flatware and kitchen knives.  After receiving a certificate from university, Bent Severin also took a masters degree in architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.  Bent Severin worked all around the world with design and architecture.

Most popular of Severin's designs are from the 1950s and 1960s. In 1958, he designed the popular series, Princess, for Holmegaard. Severin has built several hotels in Denmark. In 1973, he moved to Singapore and later to USA. His architectural firm was specialized in hotel construction and is still run by his son. It is one of the most important architectural firms for hotels worldwide.
